Formal Parlor

This elegant room was used when company came to visit. It contains portraits of the Norris Family, circa 1850. Son, Lyman Norris, was a plaintiff attorney in the Dred Scott trial. Marble-like fireplaces, like this one, are made of slate and were hand-painted to resemble marble.
